Zhamanak: Gagik Tsarukyan to run for presidency

Despite his earlier claims that he does not have any wish to run for presidency, the Prosperous Armenia party’s leader seems to have changed his mind. Citing its sources, the paper claims that Gagik Tsarukyan unveiled to his closest circles plans for nominating his candidacy in 2018. Though his desire was perceived equivocally, it isn’t absolutely a surprise as far as the Prosperous Armenia members are concerned, says the paper, adding that several opposition parties, including the Armenian National Congress and Heritage, have now put their stakes on him. According to the paper, Tsarukyan is quite likely to run for election as an opposition candidate in the next election.
