Azerbaijan’s plans with Rome Pope’s visit fail

Rome Pope Francis starts today his three-day visit to Georgia and Azerbaijan. According o Vatican press service during the visit the Pope will have a number of bilateral meetings with political and spiritual leaders of the countries.

On October 2 he will depart from Tbilisi to Baku where he will meet with Ilham Aliyev for 45 minutes and Caucasian Muslims’ leader Allasukur Pasazade with 15 minutes

For already two months the Azerbaijani authorities are doing everything to change the schedule of the visit of Pope Francis but they failed- they did not manage to persuade the Pope to visit “Khojalu genocide victims” monument.
