Not all happy with Karen Karapetyan’s appointment

Karen Karapetyan’s entry to the Armenian politics was quite impressive and at the same time directing to certain conclusions. NA speaker, ministers have not congratulated Karapetyan on his appointment. Besides, during the appointment of previous two premiers the latter were introduced by the president while Karapetyan came to the first cabinet session alone. The only person to congratulate Karapetyan was Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan.

According to political technologist Karen Kocharyan the reaction of the MPs is quite understandable. Karapetyan is not “their” person, he differs from many of them and that is why many Republicans do not want to see him in politics. “At the cabinet sitting Karapetyan showed his attitude toward them. Unlike the MPs they [the ministers] are his subordinates. Karapetyan shows working style and shows how they will work hence and the cabinet members have nothing to do but to get used to it,” Kocharyan said.
