Three years of membership to EEU brings no good to Armenia

Three years ago Serzh Sargsyan made a decision on Armenia’s entrance to the Eurasian Economic Union. What achievements have we reached during this period? Nyut.am asked the question to economist Vardan Bostanjyan.

“Among the achievements we can stress Armenia’s wish not to irritate the northern neighbor. But how big achievement we may consider it, I cannot say. Besides, during these three years we did not have any limitations on export of Armenian products. At the same time we have reached certain security guarantees,” he said.

As to the losses, the economist said they are more noticeable. “Entering the EEU we have lost the opportunity to develop relations with more developed European countries. Besides, the EEU has not yet been fully established. But the biggest loss is that during the April war we have got convinced of artificial nature of this establishment with neither of its members saying a word of support to Armenia,” Bostanjyan stressed.
