Azerbaijan terrorizes Lezgis

Russian special forces stormed today the house of former mayor of Dagestani Derbent Imam Yaraliev. The latter is a Lezgi and is well-known social-political figure in Dagestan. In 2010-2015 he was Derbent mayor. By the way his candidacy was forwarded by United Russia party. He won with 96.63% of votes. In 1995-2006 he was Dagestan prosecutor. In 2015 Russia’s Investigation Committee opened a case against Yaraliyev for abuse of power.

Today the anti-Azerbaijani moods are growing among Lezgis thus Baku has decided to terrorize Lezgi activists. On March 24 last year a Lezgi activist was, Sadval leader Hazim Gadzhiyev was killed in Dagestan in unrevealed circumstances.

During the four day war, when Azerbaijanis handed to the relatives the bodies of 21 killed Lezgis, acts of protests started in Lezgi-populated communities. They are convinced that the Azerbaijani authorities are sending their sons to the frontline to keel Azerbaijanis save.
